Launch Infrastructure for Space Systems

OHB Digital Connect in Mainz specializes in the construction and operation of rocket launch sites. As the successor to MAN Technologie und MT Mechatronics GmbH, we have been operating at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, since 1974, implementing sophisticated projects for customers such as the French space agency CNES and ESA.

The spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, is a central element of European space programs. Since the first launch of an Ariane 1 launcher on December 24, 1979, dozens of European satellites have been safely launched into orbit from there. Through our predecessor companies MAN Technologie and MT Mechatronics GmbH, we were already active in Kourou before ESA was founded in 1975 and have been involved in building the infrastructure for all past generations of Ariane launch vehicles since the Europeanization of the launch site. And the next generation of Ariane, Ariane 6, will also start its journeys into space from a launch facility to which we have contributed key infrastructure elements.

However, our involvement in the European spaceport goes even further: with the MIK launch vehicle integration hall, we have played a central role in the Europeanized Soyuz program. The S5 satellite preparation halls we built are considered groundbreaking and have cemented our position as the global market leader in the field of launch site infrastructure.

Excellence, Innovation and Reliability

Our commitment to excellence, innovation and reliability makes us a sought-after partner for the construction of space infrastructure and we are now using our many years of experience in the planning and implementation of major projects to open up new business areas in the field of microlaunchers.

As a member of the German Offshore Spaceport Alliance GOSA, we are taking the next step in the development of flexible launch pads.
